Burke Farrier Services LLC is dedicated to giving the horse optimal comfort in motion through a properly balanced foot. This in turn reduces the tension on tendons and ligaments in the lower limb through a proper heel first landing and breakover.
Through a good heel first landing, the frog is able to engage the ground allowing the soft tissues within the hoof capsule to support the horse's bone column as it impacts the ground. This aligns the pastern joint while the horse is in motion.
Correctly placing breakover, the pivot point for forward movement, in the shoe or trim reduces tension on the Deep Digital Flexor Tendon.
More information regarding hoof balance and how it can help your horse can be found on the Equine Lameness Prevention Organization's website www.lamenessprevention.org.
